The cost of getting a 1-800-CALLDOC® Physician Housecall is probably a lot less then you think. Here are some guidelines based on various insurance plans:
Medicare: Housecalls are covered in the same manner as a visit to your office-based doctor.
If you normally pay $0 out of pocket to see your office-based doctor, you will pay $0 out of pocket for a 1-800-CALLDOC® Physician Housecall.
Also, just like when you visit your office-based doctor, your annual deductible must be met before your Medicare insurance covers the expense.
For most people who have Medicare and a Medigap supplement plan (or MediCal as a secondary payor),
the out-of-pocket cost for the patient is $0 after any deductible is met.
PPO Member: A 1-800-CALLDOC® Physician Housecall is covered by your PPO plan as an "out-of-network" benefit. Check your PPO plan information to determine the
percent of the cost for which you will be responsible.
As a special offer to PPO Plan members, through March 31, 2001 the Maximum out-of-pocket expense you will have for a housecall is $50 (not including X-Rays and assuming that your annual deductible is met). Depending on your plan, your out-of-pocket cost may be less.
HMO Member: We will bill your HMO for your housecall, however, you will be responsible for any portion of the cost not covered by your HMO.
Please call 1-800-CALLDOC®'s billing department at 619-260-6310 ext. 229 with any questions.
