  • 1-800-CALL DOC is easy-to-use:

  • Call 1-800-CALL DOC. That's 1-800-225-5362.

  • A trained Triage Operator asks questions to determine the urgency of the medical problem.

  • If 'life-threatening' situation, patient is advised to call 911.

  • If 'urgent' or 'non-urgent' a physician housecall will be scheduled within 60 minutes or same day depending on need.

  • Physician and Certified Radiologic Technologist come to your home in ultra-high-tech, CALL DOC van. No lights or sirens.

  • Most situations treated in home, but if necessary, the CALL DOC physician will contact your personal physician to discuss hospital admission.

  • If the patient does not have a personal physician, CALL DOC will help find the appropriate medical specialist and arrange for hospital admission.

  • Follow-up housecalls are normally made by a Nurse Practitioner under the telephone supervision of a CALL DOC physician.

  • Medical records are forwarded to your personal physician at your request.

  • 1-800-CALL DOC and Medicare:

  • Medicare will only cover a physician housecall if the beneficiary meets the HCFA "homebound" criteria.

    "Generally speaking, a beneficiary will be considered to be homebound, if he or she has a condition which restricts ability to leave place of residence except with the aid of supportive devices, (crutches, canes, wheel chairs, walkers), the use of special transportation, or the assistance of another person or if he/she has a condition making leaving the home contra-indicated."

  • CALL DOC can participate in joint contracting with Home Health Agencies for early discharge and other case management programs.
